Client Promise

We are always pleased to receive feedback from our clients, and below are some of the things our clients have said to us.

"I am very pleased with the outcome of your adroit handling of this business.  I have completed your standard questionnaire in a positive mode, but I must also express more personally my appreciation of your service.  I have been much impressed by your skills in presenting our arguments, by your responsiveness to suggestions, by the high standard of client communications you have maintained, and by your steadiness in keeping the pressure on the other side.  After my frustrating year of dealings with [another firm of solicitors], it has been delightful to deal with a legal firm that really works."
Mr H, London

"I would just like to say a very big thank you for your handling of my case - you obviously struck just the right note with them!  The speed with which they paid up...was amazing and of course [we] were delighted with the amount of the cheque - bet they wished they'd just coughed up my medical expenses in the first place!  You have dealt with the matter using all your experience and wonderful efficiency all the way through and we both appreciate your time and expertise.  Obviously if anything else happens to us (though we hope fervently it won't!) we would not hesitate to consult you."

"The solicitor dealing with my case made me feel like a friend more than just another case."

"I have always trusted Burton & Dyson. The receptionist has always got a smile and everyone will help you, even when you call in unexpectedly."

"I am very grateful for all the work that Burton & Dyson have done for me and would use them again, and would recommend them to others looking for a good firm."

"Burton & Dyson took all the strains off us as house buyers and made it easy for us to cope with buying."

"I have always been given good advice, with all matters explained in words that I could understand."

"I found my solicitor friendly, cautious and professional, and she made moving house a more tolerable event because of her attitude."

"I felt that my solicitor worked hard on my behalf and fought my corner, taking what I wanted on board, rather than just taking the easy option."

"All my problems were sorted quickly, in a friendly and professional manner – and I was always reassured."

"A speedy, confident service when I needed help at a difficult time".

At Burton & Dyson, our philosophy is to put your needs first.

We aim to make your visit to us as easy and stress-free as possible.  We do this by providing you with professional and friendly advice tailored to your specific circumstances in language you can understand, and by keeping you well informed of developments in your case.

Although we are governed by the client care rules set out by the Law Society, we have our own interpretation of them, which are set out in our Client Promise below.

  • We will always put your interests first.
  • We will find out from the start what you hope to achieve, and aim to make sure that your expectations are realistic.
  • We will make every effort to explain things clearly, and in terms you can understand, keeping jargon to a minimum.
  • We will discuss what you hope to achieve and agree with you in writing what would be a realistic result. We will also make sure you understand any risks involved.
  • We will tell you who will be handling your work and do our utmost to ensure continuity throughout your case.
  • We will do our utmost to explain what the likely costs will be, so you can work out if a particular course of action is worth following financially.
  • We will let you know if you qualify for public funding via the Legal Services Commission. We will explain how this will affect you and your case and assist you to apply for funding, should you wish.
  • We will tell you about any developments and update you on the progress of your case. If there is likely to be no action for a period of time, we will explain why, and when you are likely to hear from us next.
  • We will reply to all letters and emails within 48 hours.
  • We will answer your call personally whenever we can. If we are unable to do so for any reason, our secretary will be available to assist you. We will endeavour to return your telephone call the same day if we are able to.
  • We will give you a clear bill which shows the work done and the amount charged.
  • We will only charge you what we have agreed with you in writing in advance. If we cannot fix a fee, we will agree the basis of our charges with you and give you an idea of the total costs.
  • We will treat you fairly, and will not discriminate against anyone because of their race, sex or disability.
  • We will keep what you tell us confidential, and refuse to act for anyone else if doing so could compromise that confidentiality.
